Linear Perspective

The idea of creating a 3 dimensional space on a flat surface really became a focal point of art in the early Renaissance. From that point on, artists never looked back. Linear perspective surrounds us all the time, the trick is to learn to truly "see" it. Santa Paula High School students spent a few days exploring our campus and community to spot 1 point, 2 point and 3 point perspectives in their everyday lives.
To quote a student "once seen, perspective can't be unseen!"

Food Photography

What better way to end the first semester than with a unit on food photography. Students learned the foundations of shooting studio still life photographs and the basics of food styling.  With tips and tricks from the professionals, students learned how to create delicious looking photos, even if some of it ended up inedible. If you don't mind, we'll keep our industry secrets so we don't ruin your view of food photos ;-)
